Beautiful People. Strobist Lighting. Using a Softbox, for the first time.

Here are some of the portraits I made in December, for my final project in the lighting class I took (and LOVED).

I understand being reluctant to pose, to have the lens turned my way.  I feel more comfortable behind the lens, seeing the beauty in others, and neglecting to look more closely at myself.

And I know my friends are like that too.

That's why I wanted to make portraits of them.

These are so beautiful! I have so many questions! Was it a workshop (like a one day thing) or a class (like over several weeks)? I would love to do a class that focused on lighting. I feel like I have so much to learn. Do you know the blog carlalovesphotography? She did a post awhile back on things to get the budding portrait photographer and the very last one was to give yourself as a subject. How wonderful is that?
